Links Fairbanks Summer Arts FestivalThis unique multi-discipline Festival in Fairbanks, Alaska, has to be seen and experienced to be believed. A full on two weeks of classes and performances led by people at the top of their profession. I’ve never come across anything like it, anywhere in the world. Once you’ve visited this festival – you’ll want to keep coming back.
Fairbanks Shakespeare TheatreFounded by Bruce Rogers, actor, Artistic Director, and one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met, FST consistently push the boundaries in Shakespearean production. In the last few years it has toured all over the state of Alaska, Canada, New York, and twice to the Edinburgh Festival. Every year they produce a “Bard A Thon” and read everything Shakespeare wrote – and some things he probably didn’t! – in one 24/7 week-long sitting, with the weather outside reaching 40 below. The talent level in this company is incredibly high and they are always looking for people to join them in the adventure of presenting Shakespeare under the Midnight Sun.
Alaska Theatre AllianceThis is the company name FST had to go by in order to perform in New York City. Check out the Alaskan hillbillies in the big city! Anne HanleyAlaska State Writer – for very good reason! Check out Anne’s website and see not only her theatre work – at which she excels – but also newspaper articles and books for children.
