New Writing

Graham founded and directed Young Writer’s Projects at both the Royal Shakespeare Company and Mercury Theatre, Colchester. As a writer himself (see Graham's Writing) he understands the nuts and bolts of playwriting and enjoys writers joining him in rehearsal to work on their plays.

Although particularly adept with emerging talent (directing the first plays of Kate Dean and Sarah Woods), he has also worked with established playwrights such as Mario Vargas Llosa, John Godber, Peter Whelan, Steve Gooch, Howard Barker, David Eldridge, Fin Kennedy, Charlotte Jones, David Holman, and Debbie Horsfield.

He was a founder and Director of Not The RSC, producing Howard Barker’s The Possibilities at the Almeida Theatre, and Trampoline Productions, producing Tony Marchant’s Raspberry and Six Fools by Lyall Watson at the Old Red Lion in London.
